ConvergiaPlanet will be building a Social Service solutions library in the near future. This library will contain an evolving collection of successful social service examples and where possible, social service models. Our mission is to share practical solutions with the public, creating a unique space for showcasing the great work done by dedicated and innovative organizations from around the world.
In Michael Moore’s movie, “Where to Invade Next?” he drops in on countries all over the world and investigates superlative social solutions. Wikipedia is a good resource that reveals more about the purpose of the film: “The nations he visits are Italy, France, Finland, Slovenia, Germany, Portugal, Norway, Tunisia, and Iceland; respectively, the subjects covered are worker benefits, school lunches, early education, college education, worker inclusion, decriminalized drugs, low recidivism, women’s health care, and women’s inclusion and leadership role in society. These countries and supporting facts are listed on the film’s website.” Essentially, this is a great movie in the way that it explains how these countries are successfully dealing with these issues, compared to the challenges we face in the USA. Drawing some inspiration from this film, it’s not that hard to imagine what a serious social services portal could do to embellish the way this information could be shared, expanded and evolved into a viable resource for all.
Ultimately, this initiative will use what is called, Transdiciplinary Innovation, to further it’s goals by collaborating with any and all organizations, academic institutions, individuals and any other groups that want to help us realize this vision.
